Word of Faith Academy is a private, Christian school dedicated to educating children, both academically and spiritually so that they can assume their God-given roles as leaders in an ever-changing, global society.
In 1997, Dr. Orlando R. Burt, Pastor of Word of Faith Christian Center, acknowledged God’s vision for Word of Faith Christian Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. This vision included the development of a school that would rigorously prepare students for advancement in the world while infusing Christian principles. To this end, an initial steering committee, consisting of teachers, school administrators, parents, and early childhood professionals, worked diligently to bring this vision to past.
Due to the faithfulness of God to totally fulfill His vision in this earth and bring forth His promises, Word of Faith Academy opened its doors to serve a diverse group of children in August of 2006. Upon its initial opening, Word of Faith Academy offered the following programs: The Early Childhood Development Program, which includes Advanced Nursery and Emergent Learners Classrooms; The Accelerated Learning Program includes Kinder-preparatory Classrooms, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. During the 2016-2017 academic year, the academy expanded to offer 5th and 6th Grade.
From inception to now, God has remained faithful and allotted us His unending grace and favor in making His vision a reality in this earth.
